Norm is a lifelong Iowan, a farm boy, a graduate of the University of Iowa, a former chef and restaurant owner, and a career numbers man.  He taught mathematics to high school students in Clinton for 38 years before getting his real estate license and joining Ruhl&Ruhl.

As a Clinton resident since the early 1960’s, Norm has been a member of or served on governing boards of many civic and community organizations, among them United Way, Associate Benevolent Society, Community Concerts, and Clinton Art Association.   His leisure interests include automobiles, both classic and sports cars; music, from jazz to classical, pop, and guitar; wine, especially Riesling Kabinett; and cooking any spicy, savory, ethnic, or comfort food. 

Norm and his wife Margaret, a retired school librarian, spent 20 years loving and decorating a 1906 Victorian in Clinton before building a ranch house on an in-town half acre.  Flower, herb, and vegetable gardens keep them busy in the summer.  They enjoy traveling and attending art exhibits, live concerts, and musical theater performances in Chicago, London, Vienna, or Moline, IL.

Although Norm came late to the real estate business, he has embraced its challenges wholeheartedly.  Since 2003 he has been the broker/manager of the Clinton Office of Ruhl&Ruhl.  He has enjoyed helping people find their dream homes, and he appreciates the opportunity to work with agents and clients to make their housing wishes and dreams come true.
