Norm is a lifetime Iowan, graduating from the University of Iowa. He began his professional career teaching mathematics at Clinton High School and retiring from Clinton High after 38 years. While in college, Norm also began his involvement with food service, and he eventually cooked for several restaurants in the Clinton area nights and weekends before owning his own restaurants.

Norm has been involved in the Clinton community by sitting on several boards of directors, among them United Way, Community Concerts, Associate Benevolent Society, and Clinton Art Association. His leisure time distractions include cars (classic and sports cars), music (jazz, classical, pop and guitar), wine (Riesling Kabinett is this year’s favorite), and an occasional catering job (tacos and chicken enchiladas for 200 is one of the requests he can fill).

Norm and his wife Margaret, a retired school librarian, spent 20 years re-working and decorating a 1906 Victorian in Clinton before building a new ranch house on a 1/2-acre lot. This farm boy has been observed shopping for lawn tractors. The couple enjoy traveling and catching live concerts or musical theater in Moline, Chicago, London, or Vienna.

Although Norm came late to the real estate business, he has embraced its challenges wholeheartedly, and he appreciates the opportunity to help people find their dream homes.
